Frequently asked questions
Which key type should I use?
Ed25519 is recommended for new keys — it's fast, secure and widely supported. RSA 4096-bit is a good choice for older systems.
Do I need to provide a comment?
No — the comment is optional, but adding one like user@host makes it easier to identify the key later.
